A special occasion deserves a special cake.

I am honored each time I’m entrusted with the centerpiece of a special day, and want to bring something unique to your table. Due to my very small operation, my capacity to make cakes is also small, and not super traditional.

As with all of my baking, I source locally and seasonally. In the summer months this gives me plenty of fun produce to work with, but can prove challenging in the winter. With this in mind, my acceptance of cake requests has limitations, and doesn’t allow for customization.

I’m not a trained cake baker, and do not do fancy piping work and decorations, nor do I make massive multi-tiered cakes. I build small, simple cakes that are produce-forward and botanically inspired. Upon accepting a cake request, I establish an agreement that I will be given artistic freedom to create a delicious, beautiful, one of a kind cake for the occasion that will be an expression of the season. I will give examples of the produce that I expect to have available at the time of the event, and if none of that sounds like a good fit, I will do my best to direct you to a baker who can fill your request.

What size cakes do you make? How much do they cost?

8” serves 10-12 people $70

6” serves 6-8 people $55

What flavors of cakes are available?

I don’t have set flavors. They depend on what local produce I can get on a given week. I make fruit forward cakes, and don’t do things like red velvet, lemon, german chocolate etc.

Can I send you a picture of what I want?

Nope. It’s like going to a tattoo artist and asking them to do something that another artist drew. I decorate cakes as I go, and typically keep it pretty simple, light and fun. I don’t do piping, ombre stuff, fondant, themes, cupcakes, and lots of other trendy things on instagram. I make each cake unique!

Can I order a cake for my dietary restrictions?

I AM able to accommodate gluten intolerance for an additional fee ( keeping in mind that I do work in a kitchen and with equipment that is also used with wheat flour, so if you are Celiac, this may not be an option). I do not make cakes that are dairy free, vegan, or egg free.

Do you do wedding cakes?

At this time, I’m not accepting commissions for wedding cakes.

As with all resources on the island, bakers are in short supply, and most food-service folks are stretched beyond their capacity.
